Release… What Stirs Within

rushing from fast,
finding in the quiet-
of my moment,
what wells up-
what washes over me,
memories that sting-
with melancholy,
do I run to busy-
to forget,
or will I let-
it all come to me,
in that instant-
what lies between,
the walls of my heart.
coming as it does,
startling me when-
it decides to seep out,
what stirs within,
when I am still.
all the intentions,
that have been-
lifted up,
heart from hands-
to my breath,
what brings it all-
to dying,
letting it go,
hasn’t left,
me yet.
