A Day in the Life of an Author~
A Day in the Life of an Author~Saturday, November 15th I was invited to recite poetry for a Charity Event for Bellissima Opera. I recited poetry from my newly released book, Seasons of the Soul: Transitions and Shifts of Life and also poetry I specifically wrote for a project I have been invited to work on. “The Transcendence Triptych” involves 3 Operas and it is with the 3rd opera that I had the amazing opportunity to create writing prompts and work with Chicago high school students. The 3rd opera called “Future Perfect” will use the students writings about transcending their barriers of racism, calling in diversity and reaching towards interconnectedness. Attending and hosting charity events such as this, brings my poetry to a new level, reaching towards a fresh and giving cause to our youth today.
Having this amazing opportunity come to me, connecting with people to donate towards such an amazing project brings my heart to all the right reasons why I am using my gift of writing. It was an amazing evening of the Arts, Opera, Music, and Poetry.
